Worth spending the $6 to see at a matinee. I think had it not been Robert Downey and Jude Law it would not have been so good. Watson was it too good of condition ( fit and trim, with a slight limp if just walking, but seemed to be healthy when he started fighting.

The scenes of London supposedly from that era were really good, especially the bridge being built at the end. High scores for cinematography... Cheesy,  and the plot is well...typical OCD Holmes...but you  pretty much know every time he finds a clue that will surface at the end.

SOUND....I don't even remember the music because I was trying to hear what they were saying and that pushed it out of the way.  That was about the only thing I did not like about it...I probably missed a quarter of the dialogue.

I don't think it will win any rewards.  If you are a big S.H. fan you don't want to miss it. If you never read any of it you might be lost.

These usually get the "get it on DVD when it's out" status for me. The cinema is hard for us because we have a child, who shouldn't see some of the movies we want to see, so we have learned patience.

Other day we got a babysitter for a little while and wanted to see Avitar, but the thing was nearly 3 hours long, and we could only have seen it that night if we went hungry.

I am a SH fan, but we have to chose our options carefully, know what I mean?

Not being able to hear the dialog drives me nuts!!

I know of that well, as I know that happened with my parents for years, I've just finally fully grown out of it.

As far as I know, it's 2 hours and 40 minutes to be exact.  So yes, very long.  I've yet to see it though sadly.

Anyways, I saw the movie a couple of days ago, and I loved it.  It was one of the better movies I've seen this (well, last year).

And Michael, quite odd actually, I recall being able to hear the dialogue quite well.  Strange.

I think 'wait 'tilll it comes out on DVD ' is a great choice.  Grin  Yes it is difficult with little ones around.   I actually did not start going to movies until Rachel got old enough to see some.   We really were not in a place to afford it, either, but things got better and she and I started going. Now when she comes home from college we hope to find something really good.  Tonight we are going to watch " Doctor Strangelove" on  DVD.  There are some older ones ( like it ) that she really enjoys. I remember working as an usher in the AZTEC theater when Strangelove came out.

Chris, it could be the theater... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  this one we usually go to was the original small town theater that was converted to one of those 8 theater jobs. I think the original screen and center section with old seats has better sound than the smaller ones. We saw Phantom in a small one and the bigger one and there was a huge difference.  Then again, it could be me with the incessant ringing in my ears.   Roll Eyes
