we suffer from a common fault. we are human.  With all the 'stuff' that comes along in this life, it is really easy to...slip.. I guess.  But, the spirits blessed us with something called friends that can sometimes see what we cannot, or will not.

“I can live out my imagination instead of my memory. I can tie myself to my limitless potential instead of my limiting past.”

-- Stephen Covey

Carbon based life forms can be pretty amazing! Here's 21st century flute, bass, drums and voice. This is really amazing and worth watching. Oh, and hi everyone  Smiley ... How's the knee Pamela?

Well, these carbon cellos sound pretty nice,  but they do not sound the same. It is much more powerful than a wooden one. It has not that "wooden" character.
A good comparison is the Bach Suites CD (4 CDs!) by Josephine van Lier. She recorded the suites on 4 instruments. A normal one, a baroque cello, a carbon and piccolo. Very, very interesting.

Thanks for this link cello fan, it is very interesting. The carbon cellos sound very different. I wouldn't say bad, just different. Plus, to hear one solo is quite subjective, to be sure..

I wonder what an entire section, or even an entire ensemble of carbons would sound like? My guess is that it would be LOUD for sure, but that soft warm glow we're all accustom to with string ensembles, would be missing.
