Q: Why did you call your group "2002"?
A: When Pamela and Randy Copus were
contemplating what to call themselves many years ago, they considered
a number of options, until the concept of the two of us
on either side of infinity dawned
on them, thus 2002. The two zeros are actually an
infinity symbol. It was never intended to represent a year in
the new millennium.
Q: Are
those real choirs on your recordings?
A: In the recording studio, Pamela and Randy layer their own
two voices to create a "virtual choir". When you hear a choir,
what you are actually hearing is about a dozen or more Pamelas
and a dozen or more Randys.
Q: Where can I see a live performance?
A: Pamela and Randy spend about 10 months recording each CD, which
doesn't leave much time for live performances. In addition, both
are multi-instrumentalists, which makes it difficult to perform
songs outside of a recording studio. For example, if Pamela is playing
harp and flute simultaneously on a recording, she can't exactly
do that live. Nor can Randy play piano and guitar simultaneously
outside of the studio. However, showcase performances have been
done recently in Dallas, Las Vegas and New Orleans and a DVD is
planned for the near future.
